How calculate the fragrance load for a candle..

When it comes to making candles, one of the most important things to consider is the fragrance load. The fragrance load is the amount of fragrance oil that you add to your wax to give your candles their signature scent. In this blog post, we'll go through how to calculate fragrance load using 8% fragrance load, and the 10 oz candle jars from LuxyM.

Before we get started, it's important to note that the fragrance load you use can affect the quality and performance of your candles. Adding too little fragrance oil can result in a weak scent, while adding too much can lead to issues such as poor burning performance or even smoke. Therefore, it's important to follow recommended guidelines and perform some testing to find the right fragrance load for your candles.

To calculate the fragrance load for a candle, you will need to know the weight of the wax that you are using, as well as the percentage of fragrance that you want to use in the candle.

First, weigh the wax that you will be using to make the candle, using a kitchen scale or a measuring cup. Let's say that the weight of the wax is 8 ounces.

Next, determine the percentage of fragrance that you want to use in the candle. This will typically be between 6-12% for most candles, but it can vary depending on the type of fragrance and the strength of the scent that you want to achieve. Let's say that you want to use 10% fragrance in your candle.

To calculate the amount of fragrance that you will need, divide the weight of the wax by the percentage of fragrance that you want to use.

EXAMPLE:
TO MAKE A 8 OZ CANDLE USING 10% FRAGRACE OIL
8 oz of wax / 1.10 = 7.27 so 7.27oz is the amount of wax you will use.
7.27 X 0.10 =0.723 =  so the 0.723oz  is the amount of fragrance you will need

Therefore, to make a candle with 8 ounces candle you will need 7.27oz of wax and 0.723 ounces of fragrance oil.
